On my Prayer List: My family
patience and wisdom to raise my children for Jesus

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
"Forgiveness clears a path for our lives to be content, but most of all it frees us to come purely before the throne of our wonderful Saviour." Vicki Olivas

I heard some very good talks this past weekend at our women's retreat at church.  I was again reminded on some many things.  It was very good!!

Here's a quote from Joni Eareckson Tada....  "Justice is when we get what we do deserve, and that is hell. Mercy is when we do not get what we deserve, and that is salvation. Grace is when we get what we don't deserve, and that is forgiveness, peace and joy, strength in our weaknesses, an audience with God through prayer, a home in heaven, an inheritance with Christ, and service in God's kingdom for all of eternity, and so much more!"

Farm Life...

We now have our third goat and I named her Moon Dance.  She is settling into her new home nicely and she should kid in a couple months.  Slowly we are building up my dream farm!  :)  I'm milking Morning Star now and her milk is delicious.  I just separate Moon from mama for the nights and let him be with her all day.  He sure doesn't like to be away from his mama, but so far this is working out well.

Moon loves to be on top of the world....

The children love to go to the barn and spend time with the goats

Kittens are another favourite attraction at the barn.  Callie had two and they are both so cute.

B. with her kitten, it was her cat that had the kittens.  :)
Mama (Callie) and her girls.
So that is a our short farm life update....  I was going to post more, but while I was sitting here, I heard something fall behind me. I had totally forgotten that I was making bread in the Bosch and it was rising for a bit.  Well it rose so high it knocked the lid off.  I'll need to shape the dough into loaves in just a few minutes, so I'll post this and share more tomorrow.  :)  It sure is handy to have my desk here in the kitchen, but sometimes I forget I'm suppose to be doing other things.  LOL

A Note From Baby Dear

Just a quick note, my mommy does want to blog, but right now she doesn't have time.  Maybe later on today once things wind down and the house is quiet.  Mommy is my favourite person in the whole wide world!!  She loves me and I love her.  :)

She wanted to let you know that she is busy with us children, the goats and sewing.  She hopes to share pics and come take time to write soon.  This is her way of writing down the memories she wants to remember forever.    This is her journal....  :)

Love,
 Baby Dear

Moon Pics

I know this is  bit blurry, but Moon does not stand still for a second.  LOL  Here he is trying to jump up onto my lap.

Just because Moon is cute and so funny to watch, I thought I would post a few more pictures.

K. loves him.....  :)

Waiting for him to come, as soon as they sit down, Moon runs right over to them.  :)

Giggle time.....  :)

Middle of March Update :)

So it is already the middle of March!!!  Yay!!!  I'm so ready for spring to arrive along with the warmer weather, spring breezes, open windows and all that goes along with that.  :)  Come spring!!!

This past week went by so quickly!  Since the girls had no school, I kept our homeschooling week very light.  My plan was to just do math, but one son got sick, so we did math on 2 or 3 days.  That is ok, next week we will begin in earnest and see if we can be done school for the summer by May.  :)

In other news, we have a goat/s!!  We have selected two does, and we brought one home about two weeks ago and she kidded last weekend.  She had a healthy boy and he is so adorable!!  Both are doing well.  :)  The other doeling is still with the buck and we will bring her home the beginning of April, so just a couple more weeks.

We named the doe Morning Star and her baby is Moon.  :)  Moon is a frisky little fellow and when we sit in the pen, he loves to jump onto our laps, we like to imagine that he thinks he is mountain climbing.  LOL  K. just loves being with him and giggles when he is jumping all over her.  So cute to watch!  I'm hoping to milk the mama at some point.  Right now I'm letting the baby drink all he wants.  :)  So that has been a bit exciting!!  I was there for the birth....  Morning Star is such a docile doe, I'm hoping it works out well for us to milk her and we LIKE the milk.  :)  Growing up we had goats and I don't remember goat's milk tasting any different then cow's milk, but now I'm older and I'm not so sure.  LOL

In the sewing "room",  I was able to sew one skirt last week for R.  She really needs some new skirts.  I was hoping to get a couple more sewn, but the week just went by to quickly.  I sewed up another diaper last week!  Now I'm out of snaps....  So I need to order some more, I do enjoy using cloth diapers and think of the money I'm saving.  hee hee  :)

At church, we just started a monthly ladies Bible study,  we are going through "True Women 101 Divine Design" by Mary Kassian and Nancy Leigh DeMoss.  It's an eight week study, but we will be doing it once a month instead.  :)

"True womanhood is a distinctive calling of God to display the glory of His Son in the ways that would not be displayed if there were no womanhood." John Piper

It was a good discussion.  Our purpose in life is to put God on display - to reflect His glory in ways we as women were uniquely created to do. I never quite thought of this before.  I'm so enjoying our church!  It's been so good.

So that is in a nutshell of what I've been up to lately.  :)  Life as a wife and mama can keep one very busy, but I'm happy and content in my calling here.  God is so good and I've been so blessed.  :)

Our Funny Boys Plus

Yes, I'm still here.  :)

I often think that once the little ones are in bed, that I'll take a few minute to blog, but it just doesn't ever seem to happen.

Our little boys like to make us chuckle....  Here are just a few pictures to show their cuteness.  :)

Our little turtle??

Nice hat!

I can still see you, mommy.  :) Can you still see me?
Cool hat, it matches your clothes!
If you noticed, you will see the house is very cluttered!  It never ceases to amaze me on how quickly the clutter/dirt on the floors appear.  I should add the counters and table too!   Some days I just want to get school done and then tidy up, other  most days we are able to start out in a tidy house.  Those are nice days, it just depends what happened the evening before.  Most days, I like to have the house tidied up before bed, such a nice feeling to start out the day fresh.  :)

I've had some time to sew this past week and this time it was sewing cloth diapers.  :)  FUN!!  Last night, I tried sewing a diaper with PUL on the outside and micro fleece on the inside.  I had never sewn with PUL before, but that diaper turned out and it's so cute!!!  The mirco fleece is so soft....   I'm hoping to sew up a few more next week.  I back to using cloth and it's been fun.  I also like wool covers.  My mom knitted up a couple for me and those are nice to use.  I'm slowly restocking my diaper stash, ones I had sewn several years ago are needing to be replaced.  :)

This is a pocket diaper....  I love the owls!!  :)

The Weeks....

His love for horses has started young....

Weeks come and weeks go....  Time has a way of ticking by quickly!!

It was a good week here, school went very well and what a change today, our now 10 yr son started school on his own accord this morning!  I can handle that!!  :)

Since I wrote last, we do now have a son who is 10!  He has entered the double digits...  :)

Today, we were suppose to have LITE Day with our homeschool group, but because of a blizzard that passed by today it was canceled.  I was thankful I didn't have to go out and we could stay home safe and cozy in our house.  The children had fun playing out in the snow too.  It was a snow day for the girls, so it was pleasant to have then around today.

Last weekend some of us enjoyed a lovely walk in the nearby forest.  We have a lot more snow now!    I think we will have to venture out there tomorrow...

Sweet girl with her new hat.
Our busy 3 yr old...

Our inquisitive 7 yr old.
Look who is 10!!!
I took this picture through a hole in the tree!  B. was on the other side looking in.  :)

Easy way down the hill....
One afternoon this past week, I was able to get some sewing done.  Our much used highchair needed a new seat cover, so I sewed one up.  While looking through my material stash, I found some denim and sewed up myself a skirt.  It was a productive afternoon.  I was able to sew while the baby napped and the children played outside.  Such a rare treat!

Blessings to you today!!

Our November Trip - Part 2 of 2

Looking at the above picture, where do you think we spent day 2 in Cleveland??

If you guessed the zoo, you are correct!!  :)

The lions and we even got to hear the daddy lion roar, is this pic he is hiding.
Huge Elephants
Tall Giraffes
Furry Koalas
Colourful fish, baby dear loved watching them swim.

Outside of the lodge by the wolves.  Here is Balto....

Spent a bit of time at the playground
Happy boy
Precious baby boy!!
The weather was cool, but not to cold.  It was around 8C and sunny.   I think the children enjoyed the zoo even more then the museum the day before.  We saw seals swimming in the water, rhinos running and kangaroos hopping too.  Plus we had a ride on the tram and walked through the rainforest.  I really need to print out the pictures I took that day and put them in an album for our 3yr old.  He loved the zoo and talk about it often when we got back home.  :)

We then headed home the next day.  It was a good trip, the men enjoyed their time at the VSA and we mamas enjoyed our time out with the little ones.

Our Trip In November - Part 1 of 2

Back in November,  hubby and I, along with our three youngest children went on a business trip. Also on that trip my husband's work partner and his family, who are also our neighbours came along.  We were gone about 4 days and we had an enjoyable time.  On the first full day in Ohio, us mamas took the children (5 total - 5 and under) to the Children's Museum in Cleveland.   We were able to spend most of the day there and the children had lots of fun, although by about 3pm or so, it was showing that nap time had been missed.  We stayed until just before closing and then we headed out to pick up the men who spent the day at the VSA.  (Violin Convention/Competition)

He loves this little tractor!!  They had a farm room all in the theme of the "Big Red Barn".  I use to have that book memorized!  LOL  It was a favourite book at one point with the children.   I'm not even sure where that book is now...

Horses!!
He could only make the tractor go backwards...  I was coming to "recuse" him.
Another room had a water table, what fun!!  :)
A playhouse!!
Grocery shopping!
I think a little small yet to be a bus driver though...  :)

The children also did some painting and enjoyed another larger room that had sets of how people lived many years ago.  It was a fun day!

First Week of School 2013

This week was our first week back to school since our winter break.  It was good to get back into routine, even though times tables, nouns and verbs were forgotten.  Hopefully next week well go better in that respect.  Otherwise, it was a good week, except I did drive an hour for a dentist appointment, but when I got there I found it was for next week!  Yikes!  I'm not sure how the mix up happened, because I do remember now about the date being changed so that I could bring the four children who needed to see the dentist on the same day.  Anyway, that won't happen again!    So we had a nice Wednesday afternoon drive...  At least the roads were good that afternoon.....

So a new year is upon us.  I didn't make any resolutions...  Well, I am praying about how I can simplify our life more.  I like to think of a phrase from a song I knew as a child, "Keep my life simple, keep my life sweet, I want forever to sit His(Jesus) feet.  It is so easy to get caught up with things of this world and forget the real important ones.

I have not blogged since last October, so I'll share some things we did in my next post.  But for now, about our youngest.  He had a bit of a mishap and we are still not sure exactly what happened, but he knocked out one of his front teeth!  Anyway, he is doing ok and didn't seem to be to bothered by it all.  I think it affected me more then him!  I felt so terrible!  He is still our happy little fellow and such a ray of sunshine!  :)

Hubby and I plus the youngest 3 went on a small business trip with our neighbours.  I'll share about that in another post.

Happy New Year and may you be showered with all of God's abundant blessings.

A Beautiful Morning Sunrise

This morning I was downstairs in our kitchen making lunches for the girls and I heard upstairs the pitter patter of little feet.  I then heard exclaimed, "Mom, look the the pretty rainbow".

Yes, it was a very pretty sunrise this morning.  I should have taken the camera out with me when I had gone to the barn a bit earlier this morning, then sunrise also included a pretty sliver moon and Venus.  :)  Such a beautiful morning and it feels like spring, but wait it is only January.

I"m planning to get back into blogging a bit more often.  Even if I don't get many comments, it is a great way to journal our lives and I don't want to forget the memories we are making all the time.  :)

Happy New Year!!!
